Zola signs contract extension until 2009
Tranmere Rovers injury struck striker Calvin Zola has signed a new contract at the club, which will keep him on the Wirral until June 2009.

Zola initially signed a two-year contract for Tranmere in the summer of 2004 after being released by Newcastle United, and at the end of the 2004/05 season, the Congolease striker signed an extension until 2007.

Since being at Tranmere, Zola has had a number of injury problems, and a visa problem which kept him out of the game for six months and although injuries have so far halted his season ths year, the striker has looked much better when he has played under Ronnie Moore.

In 50 appearances for Tranmere, Zola, who also spent a season at Oldham before signing for Rovers, has scored 10 goals.
