Zola earns place in team of the week

Zola in team of the week for Northampton game

After putting in a fabulous display against Northampton Town on Saturday in League One, which earned him the Tranmere Rovers Mad man of the match award, Calvin Zola has been selected in the Coca-Cola League One team of the week.

Calvin scored Tranmere's first goal in the 3-1 win at Sixfields, a curling shot from the edge of the area which beat the goalkeeper and rolled into the bottom corner.

Along with his goal, Zola also played a big part in Gareth Taylors goal, as he collected the ball and played it out to the right-wing, from where Chris Shuker crossed to the far post and Gareth Taylor headed in.

Zola is the fourth Tranmere played in the Team of the Week, after Shane Sherriff, Chris Shuker and Ian Goodison (twice) have been selected this season.

Rovers tall number eight is joined in the team by former player Ian Sharps, who is now captain of Yorkshire club Rotherham United at Millmoor.
