We will have money!

Can you remember the last time Tranmere bought a player? If I'm right in thinking, the last three players Tranmere bought were Simon Haworth, £250,000 off Wigan, now of course retired, Alan Navarro, £210,000 off Liverpool, now released by Tranmere and Russ Howart, £40,000 off York City, released by Tranmere earlier this week. So, the last three players Tranmere actually bought off other clubs, are no longer playing for Tranmere.

Well, Tranmere may actually buy a player off a club this summer! Amazing you might say, but from somewhere, we have found between £300,000 and £500,000 which Chairwomen has announced as Tranmere Rovers' transfer budget this year.

This is certainlly exciting news for Rovers, as it means that we may actually be able to get in quite a number of exciting players this summer along with the 3 or 4 which are bound to come in on free transfers.
The good thing also about such a large transfer budget for such a small club is that Rovers will not be too limited on the wage bill. Having released Laron, Navarro, Howarth, Beresford, Robinson, Jones and more to follow I'm sure, this means that alot of wage money has been made available. Certainlly good news.

After announcing the wage bill, Lorraine Rogers has expressed that in the 2005/06 season, Rovers will be aiming for a top two finish in League One, not the play-offs which was the aim this season.
