He may never have played for Tranmere Rovers, or even managed them, but Tranmere fans are mourning the death of former Tranmere commentator Paul Rice, who passed away recently following a long illness.

Mr. Rice was the voice of Tranmere Rovers during their cup giant-killing period in the late 90's and then early 2000's, and it was his excitement and passion for Tranmere Rovers Football Club which made many Tranmere fans love him.

It is Mr. Rice's voice which can be heard on the videos (which can be bought in the club shop) of famous games such as Southampton and Bolton in the F.A. Cup and League Cup.

Mr. Rice leaves behind a wife and five children, with who our respects our with a this time. Paul will be deeply missed by his friends, family and Tranmere fans alike.

It is expected that a minute of silence or applause will be sounded at the fourthcoming home game against Bristol City in League One this Friday evening.
