Transfer Gossip

Over the past day or two, Tranmere Rovers have been linked with Liverpool right-back, David Raven.

Raven, who was with Rovers as a youngster before being snapped up by Liverpool still lives on the Wirral and rumour has it he is set to sign from the European Champions on-loan until the end of the season.

Raven would be a good replacement for Simon Francis, Rovers current right-back. Francis has just entered what will be his final of three months on-loan at Tranmere from Sheffield United so it would make sense if Rovers were to sign Raven.

Brian Little has so far refused to comment on the situation, which makes me wonder if the rumour could indeed be true.

Brian usually plays his cards close to his Suit, Tie, Shit and Chest, which means Tranmere fans never hear anything about signings until the player has actually signed. So, Brian not commenting on the situation makes me wonder if it's true. It makes some sense, as does signing Raven in the first place.

Little told the press "I'm not going to comment on what might or might not happen. I'm not going to talk about particular names."

Also linked with Rovers of late is Stoke City midfielder Anthony Pulis.  The 21-year old has failed to make an appearence for his club this season since his Father was sacked from the managers post.
