Tranmere take another step back

Tranmere Rovers right midfielder / attacking option Paul Hall has left the club on a free transfer for Chesterfield, signing for the team on a two year deal.

If I'm right in thinking, this leaves Tranmere with just four striking options and rumours still flying around about Iain Hume.

This appears to be more poor mismanagement by Rovers, as it appears Tranmere failed to offer last seasons second leading scorer with 12 goals a new contract after he rejected the first offer.

I feel that this is a huge step back. Rovers now have no right midfield option either to go with no left midfielder or back-up goalkeeper.

Sort it out now please Lorraine and go. At this speed, Rovers will fail miserably to finish anywhere near last seasons third place achievments, esspessially when the following have all left with knowone brought in:

Tyrone Larone, Paul Robinson, Gary Jones, Alan Navarro, Niel Ashton, Simon Haworth, Russ Howarth, David Beresford and Paul Hall.

Unless I fail to see something here, that means Rovers are ten players down on last season, with five/six of the players released actually being first team players. That means Rovers' squad is down to about 16 for this season, which doesn't really look good for a team challanging for first place.

So are Tranmere going to make five mystery transfers? Of wich all the players will be better than the rest?

I'm sorry, I doubt they will. Next year, look forward to relegation and I make it the clubs fault for not keeping the better players of the last campaign. Remember, Ryan Taylor and Mark Rankine could still be on their way, as well as Iain Hume, whilst Ian Goodison and Theo Whitmore could be staying. Whats with that? Where did Goodison and Whitmore impress last year?
