Tranmere sign youngster Barnett

Tranmere Rovers have today clinched the signing of former Liverpool player Charlie Barnett on a one-year contract after the player enjoyed a successful trial at the club this summer.

19-year old Barnett was released this summer by Liverpool, despite captaining the clubs youth team to F.A. Youth Cup success in 2006, and has spent most of the summer on trial at Prenton Park, impressing greatly in most, if not all, of his outings this summer.

A cultured central midfield, Barnett appears to be a hard worker with a good vision as well as a great technique and the ability to find space.

Barnett becomes the seventh signing of the summer and will hopefully be joined by Steven Jennings in signing a contract with the club.
