The Transfer Window

Last updated : 06 January 2006 By Matthew Jones
On New Years Day, we put up an artical asking you what action you would like to see taken by Tranmere Rovers FC during the January Transfer Window.

We are still looking for responses and next friday another artical with your emails will be put up showing what you think. Please see the Related Articals Link below for more details.

Anyway, here are some responses we recieved.

Personally l'd like to see an improvement in the quality of Little's signings. Ian Goodison is a player l would like to see the back of. l'm a regular in the Kop and have seen far too many assists to the other team being made by Mr Not Good-enough-ison. Harsh maybe but they came in games we could and maybe should have won!

Players in is a tricky one, maybe a left back or left winger to give us a choice of where to play Gareth Roberts either left wing or left back l rate him in both positions.

Another centre back maybe, Sharpy and Jackson doing well though. Definitely another keeper, l don’t think Wilson’s good enough to challenge Big John and complacency though not one of his traits, it’s a problem none the less.

Midfield maybe, Ranks and McAteer maybe looking to finish this season? Up front l think we are strong enough Zola's trickeries is knocking them in, Davies and Delboy in the wings!

Cheers

Ade Jones, 26, Greasby

I do not think that we should get rid of anyone because we are not in a good enough situation to be getting rid of players. I would like us to sign Steven O’Leary (Luton) and possibly Simon Francis (Sheffield United) permanently.

Tom Davies, 15, Heswall

A central midfielder with energy to get from box to box who is probably creative too and can score goals.

Richard Palmer, Heswall

Well, delighted I'm sure a number of you will be to know that Steven O'Leary has today signed on loan until the end of the season, which is great for the midfield certainlly, which has improved greatly over the Christmas Period.

I have a few rumours for you, but none seem to have any sense, but here they are.

Delroy Facey to Plymouth [Coca-Cola Championship] for £50,000 and Scott Taylor. Brian Little has dismissed this rumour.

Chris Greenacre to Burnley [Coca-Cola Championship].

David Raven of Liverpool [Premier League] to Tranmere.

Simon Francis to sign permanently for Tranmere from Sheffield United [Coca-Cola Championship] for £125,000.

Ian Sharps to Doncastor Rovers [League One]. Sharps himself has dismissed this transfer.

All of these rumours are un-confirmed and seem very unlikely.

Anyway, keep your emails on the Transfer Window action (what you'd like to see happen or whether you are happy with what has already happened) to matthewtrfc@msn.com
