The Injury Front

Currently, Les Parry is dealing with more injuries than Wayne Rooney has eaten mince pies following Tranmere's boxing day clash with Walsall.

Already, Rovers are without key players such as Jason McAteer (who is either still injured, has eaten too much Christmas Dinner or is just not match fit), John Achterberg (stomach muscle) and two fringe players, in Calvin Zola (back) and Chris Dagnall (leg) but now there are two more players for Les Parry's Christmas Hospital.

The two fresh injuries are Defender Ian Goodison and Key Striker Delroy Facey, who both limped off at some point during yesterday's stalemate at Walsall.

Goodison got injured during the first half in a heavy tackle with Matty Fryatt, for which the Jamaican really should have been cautioned. Goodison limped off at half time and was replaced by Paul Linwood.

Powerhouse target man Facey was bundled over by Walsall defender Bennett in the second half, a challange which should have resulted in a Penalty or Free-kick for Rovers.
As it was, Bennett got off with the challange and Facey limped off after making Physio Les Parry run out of the dugout on two occasions. Facey has an ankle problem.

It appears that both Facey and Goodison will miss tomorrow's 7:45PM kick-off with Yeovil at Prenton Park, but Brian Little is hopeful each will be available for the New Years Eve clash with Port Vale.

Fortunatly for Rovers (and Les Parry), Chris Greenacre managed to get through the whole 90 minutes yeaterday, after missing the last two games with a leg injury.
