The Injury Front

Tranmere Rovers could welcome back two key players for their Boxing day trip to the Bescott Stadium where they will take on Walsall.

Centre back Ian Goodison (thigh) and leading scorer Chris Greenacre (knee) both missed the Marathon Penalty Shoot Out defeat in the LDV Vans Trophy to Carlisle midweek, whilst Greenacre also missed the 4-1 defeat to Brentford one week ago.

It is a timely return for Rovers, who already have a thin squad without injuries and a full squad is hugely important over the hectic Christmas and New year squedual.

However, John Achterberg (Stomach), Calvin Zola (Back) and Chris Dagnall (leg) are all missing.

Zola, who injured his back against Brentford will be out for the whole of the festive period, which is a huge blow to Tranmere's Peter Crouch.
