Tranmere have signed former Manchester City Left-Midfielder Nicky Summerbee on a four-month contract. Summerbee is allowed to sign for Rovers because he is not currently contracted to any club, and can therefore sign on a fre transfer.

The 34-year old who has spent the last two weeks training with Tranmere along with Sven Baas who is still on trial with the club.

The Left-Winger has started his career at Swindon Town in 1989 before switching to Manchester City for £1,500,000 in 1994. In 1997 Summerbee left Manchester for Sunderland, then representing Bolton, Nottingham Forest and Liecester City before he moved permanently to Braford City where he stayed for two seasons. This summer Summerbee was back with Swindon Town, but couldn't earn a contract and so came on trial to Rovers, where he has now earned a contract.
