Striker extends contract

Tranmere Rovers 20 year old striker Calvin Zola has signed a new contract for the Merseyside club.

The deal will keep the 20 year old at Prenton Park until 2007. However, it was only possible for Zola to extend his contract after a meeting in Sheffield lead to an agreement to extend his work permit for two more years.

The striker will most probably be a key feature in Rovers' push for promotion next season, along with Iain Hume, Eugene Dadi and Chris Dagnall. Zola will most certainlly be looking to secure a regular starting place in the Tranmere side after he was suspended from playing by the government because of work permit problems.
