Shrews eying up move for Brown

Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters is eyeing up a move for Tranmere Rovers 21-year old left-midfielder Paul Brown.

Brown spent a short period on trial with The Shrews only a few weeks ago and even lined up for Shrewsbury Reserves in their 3-0 defeat to Wrexham Reserves.

Brown is out of contract at Prenton Park in the summer and it doesn't look as if manager Brian Little will be offering a player who is a very big prospect a fresh contract after the Boss had failed to give Brown a proper run out in the first team.

Brown has so far made just four appearences for Rovers and only one this season, this coming in their penalty shoot out defeat (11-10) to Carlisle in the LDV Vans Trophy Northern Section Quarter-Final.

Should Brown leave, I'm sure many Rovers fans will be dissapointed as he has looked very good when he has played in the first team (especially against Manchester City in Pre-Season at Prenton Park) and a lot of the fans feel Brian Little hasn't given Brown the chance he deserves in the first team.

Also this season, Brown had a brief spell on loan at Conference champions Accrington Stanley and has been a regular for the reserves, scoring the winner from the penalty spot against Shrewsbury Town Reserves on Monday night in a 1-0 victory for the Tranmere second team.
