Nixon, a club legend, has had the knee injury for a number of years now and this has limited his time on the training ground coaching Rovers upcoming goalkeepers and he has finally decided to hang up his training jacket and gloves.
This, if you ask me, leaves the door open for John Achterberg to become Rovers goalkeeping coach in the next few years.
