Rovers say farewell to Georgie
Tranmere Rovers have today released Irish central midfielder George O'Callaghan by mutual consent.

29-year old O'Callaghan joined Tranmere in the summer on a free transfer from Irish side Cork City, joining Rovers on a two-year contract.

An exciting central-midfielder, who had started his career with Port Vale before having spells with Brighton and Ipswich in the English game, O'Callaghan only made eight appearances for Tranmere's first team and has not played a match since October due to personal problems.

It appeared that the player was over his issues as he made a come back for the reserves just before Christmas, but it appears thinks have not been resolved and the player today agreed to terminate his contract with the club immediately.
