Rovers booked their place in the second round of this seasons trophy with a 1-0 victory over Accrington Stanley at Prenton Park earlier this week, whilst Crewe comfortably disposed of League Two side Macclesfield Town, beating the Silkmen 3-0 at Gresty Road.
Other fixtures in the Northern section include Scunthorpe taking on Grimsby in a tough local derby and Leeds United travelling to Rotherham, whilst in the Southern section includes Hereford United vs. Swindon Town in an all League One clash.
