Tranmere Rovers have been drawn away to Coca-Cola Championship side Hull City away in the first round of the 2006/07 seasons Carling Cup.

It will be Tranmere's second visit to the KC Stadium, and hopefully a visit which will be better than their first, when they lost 6-1 in the league, thanks to Theo Whitmore occupying the goal after injuries to Russ Howarth and John Achterberg in the first half.

Other interesting ties in the Northern Section of the draw include Leeds United vs. Chester City, Accrington Stanley vs. Nottim Forest and a local derby between Scunthorpe United and Lincoln City at Glanford Park.

All the first round ties will be played in the week commencing 21st August.
