The third round draw for the Johnstone's Paints Trophy has taken place today and Tranmere have been handed a home tie for the third time this season.

Ronnie Moore's side will play League Two side Morecambe at home for the second season running in the tournament, with the tie to be played on the week commencing November 3rd.

Should Tranmere win the match, they will be in the semi-final of the Northern Section of the trophy and indeed they are just four games away from a Wembley final.

Last season, Tranmere were knocked out of the Johnstone's Paints Trophy by Morecambe at the first round stage, losing a poor match 1-0 at Prenton Park.

The pick of the northern section ties in the Johnstone's Paints trophy Quarter Final is a home tie for Rotherham, who knocked out Leeds in the second round, against Leicester City.
