Tranmere Rovers completed their six-match pre-season Friendly campaign with a 1-0 win away at Edgely Park against League Two side Stockport County.

Chris McCready scored the only goal of the game for Rovers, heading a free-kick into the Stockport goal on 20 minutes whilst on 21-minutes, Tony Dinning sent a penalty the wrong side of the post.

The victory is only Rovers second of the summer, following defeats to Heswall and Vauxhall Motors and stalemates at Prenton Park with Championship club Wolves and Coventry. The only other victory was away to non-league Cammell Lairds.

Rovers kick off their quest for promotion in the 2006/07 season next Saturday, 5th August, at Prenton Park against Oldham Athletic. The match is a 3.00 PM kick off.
