Hinchcliffe, 19, is to act as cover for John Achterberg who is likely to be out for the rest of the season with the knee injury he picked up at Yeovil Town.
In his short career, Hinchcliffe has yet to make an appearance for Preston after signing proffessional in August 2006.
The 5'10 tall keeper will wear the number 13 shirt for Rovers.
