Roberts to stay?

Tranmere Rovers left back of seven seasons, Gareth Roberts, could still remain at the club despite admitting he'd like to leave and play at a higher level of football this summer.

The Welsh International, who was linked with Hull City during the transfer window, has said "I'll wait to see who the club appoint as manager before chosing whether I move on or not. Saturday could have been my last game for Tranmere or it might not be."

The 28-year old continued "I would like to have a shot at playing at the higher level again. I'm 28 and in my prime. I had two years at that level at Rovers and loved it.

28-year old Roberts addmited he'd love a shot at Championship football again, having enjoyed two seasons there with Roberts.

"But I would like to sign for Tranmere again and possibly play the rest of my career at Prenton Park" he continued.

He concluded that if there are no firm offers on the table, he will go nowhere and seek another contract from Tranmere, which I'm sure they will offer him only too quickly.
