Goodison signs contract extension
Tranmere Rovers have today secured a two-year contract extension for former Jamaican captain Ian Goodison, keeping the Jamaican Sensation with the club until Summer 2009, subject to Goodison re-newing his Work Permit.

The Rovers centre-half signed a new one-year deal in the summer when his contract expired and since he has played in all but one of Tranmere's 23 games so far this season, giving him a tally of 128 appearances for Tranmere Rovers since he was signed on trial by Brian Little in February 2004, scoring two goals, both away at Blackpool and Yeovil.

So far this season, Goodison has made the League One Team of the Week on a number of occassions and in many fans opinion has comfortably been the Tranmere player of the season.

In other news, Tranmere Rovers player/coach Jason McAteer will be out for eight weeks with a bruising to the knee.
