Loan is a possibility

Moore: We can make loan signings. It's up to me when we make them
Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has stated that should it be required, Tranmere will and can take up the option of bringing in a few players on loan.

Speaking to the Tranmere Rovers official site, Moore said "Dave Philpotts has listed about a dozen players for me. It's just a matter of making a few phone calls. It's down to me when we need to do it.

"But the problem you get with loan players is they are nearly all guarentee's that they play in your side. They have to be automatic picks. I'd like an experienced defender from the Premiership or Championship who is out of favour with their club and can come here for a month or two and make us a better side."

It is thought that Moore may make some loan signings due to the current player shortage, especially in defence and attack, which see's Rovers left with two centre-backs and three attackers who have first team experience.

Last season, Tranmere had six players on loan under Brian Little. Rovers signed Alex Bruce (Birmingham), Simon Francis (Sheffield United), David Raven (Liverpool), Steven O'Leary (Luton), Matt Murray (Wolves) and Dino Seremet (Luton) to strengthen their weak squad, which finished very low in the League One table.
