Brian Little has openly admitted that his tactic of fielding both Sam Aiston and Nicky Summerbee in the same team has not worked and has failed to end Tranmere's six games without a win.

Little believes signing a defensive midfielder on loan could put an end to the poor run of form, as Tranmere would conceed less goals, which have been a huge problem of late.

Little wants to bring in a player who is different to what Rovers already have at the club, as he thinks playing two attacking minded players has meant Rovers get over-run in midfield, where the likes of Jason McAteer and Mark Rankine have struggled of late.

In other news, Tranmere defender Ian Sharps has returned to full training and is very likely to feature in the 16 who will be picked to face Scunthorpe on Friday night.
