Tranmere Rovers managed Brian Little has today left the club by mutual consent following an agreement between himself and the board today.

After lengthy discussions between Lorraine Rogers and Brian Little over the clubs ambitions for next season and future plans, Lorraine Rogers decided it was best for the Geordie to leave.

On the matter, Lorraine Rogers said: "Our discussions with Brian over the last few days have been totally open and amicable. We focused on what's right for the club and for Brian....We'd like to thank Brian for the success he brought to the club, especially in his first two seasons here. Now we need to focus on next season and we will start the process of finding a new manager immediately."

Brian Little told the press: "I've thought about this long and hard over the past few days and I'm sure this is right for the club and me personally. I've really enjoyed my passed three seasons here, despite the problems we've had this season. The play-offs this year and the F.A. Cup Quarter Final games against Millwall stand out. Finally, I'd like to wish everyone at the club success for the future."

In his time at Tranmere, Brian Little took Rovers to the 2004-05 League One Play-Offs, 2004-05 LDV Vans Northern Section Semi-Final and 2003-04 F.A. Cup Quarter Final. Tranmere Rovers Mad would like to wish Brian all the best for the future.

In the meantime, Jason McAteer, assisted by John McMahon, will be in charge for Rovers final game of the season, tomorrow, at Prenton Park against Doncaster Rovers.
