Johnston has been a regular in the reserve and youth sides over the last few seasons in defence yet despite a string of impressive performances for the Tranmere second string he is yet to make his competative debut for the club.
The 19-year old, who has been capped at Welsh junior level, has joined Bangor in a bid to gain what Ronnie Moore called "some much needed first team experience" as he looks to break into the first team.
