Hume: "I never asked to leave"

Iain Hume, who yesterday left Tranmere, insists he never wanted to move away from the club he loves, but he feels the move to Leicester City was what was best for him.

"I never really wanted to leave Tranmere" Hume said. "All I asked was to know if a transfer came up, and have rejected previous ones to Preston and Sheffield. I just felt now was the time to move on.
"I'd been at Tranmere since before I was 16, so I was sad to be leaving, yet I thought it was the right time to move."
