Teenage prospect Danny Holmes has returned to Tranmere Rovers after a three-month loan spell with Blue Square Premier side Southport.
Holmes, yet to make a first team appearance for Tranmere, thoroughly impressed whilst at Southport, making a number of appearances for the Sandgrounders with Port boss Peter Davenport calling the player a "superb prospect".
With Ian Goodison now out injured, Holmes, who can play either centre-back or right-back, could feature in the first team squad in the coming weeks. With an eye for goal, pace, strength and a great tackle, it wouldn't be too much to expect Holmes to make his debut before the end of the season.
