Greenacre third in player of the month

Striker's performances recognised

Tranmere Rovers striker Chris Greenacre has had his string of impressive performances recognised by the media today as he was named third in the League One player of the month award for August.

The striker player in all four of Rovers four matches in August and netted an impressive three goals in three league games, one against each of Leeds, Gillingham and Brighton with all the goals coming from Chris Shuker assists.

The winner of the award for August was Luton Town's evergreen forward Paul Furlong whilst Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford came in second place.
