Tranmere Rovers central defender Ian Goodison has been voted as the clubs player of the year by the fans in the official vote held by the club.

Goodison was in sprakling form for the first four months of the season, enough to earn him a new two year contract with his current deal due to expire this summer.

He has made a number of appearances in the player of the week team (as selected by the media) this season and has been a crucial player in Tranmere's promotion push this season.

Steve Davies won the young player of the season award from the fans after a number of good performances on the left wing this season including one goal whilst Gavin Ward won the goal of the season award for his strike against Leyton Orient, although this is perhaps a little harsh on Gareth Taylor for his lob against Chesterfield and Paul McLaren for his 25-yard shot against Bristol City as Ward didn't actually mean to shoot!

The Rovers players voted Chris Greenacre as their player of the season with the striker netting 19 goals so far this season whilst the squad also voted Steve Davies as their young player of the season.
