The the second successive season, Tranmere Rovers captain Ian Goodison has been named the Tranmere Rovers fans player of the year.

Centre-back Goodison, 35, has been a key part of the Tranmere team this season, with Rovers failing to win in his absense when he has been suspended or injured.

The Young Player of the year award, as voted for by the fans, went to left-back Andrew Taylor who has slotted into the team brilliantly since his November move to the club from Blackburn Rovers, a move that was made permanent in January.

Antony Kay won the Goal of the Season award for his goal against Carlisle United at Prenton Park, where a Paul McLaren corner fell to Kay on the edge of the penalty area, and the centre-back chipped the ball over the defender with his first touch before volleying the ball home.

Youngster Steven Jennings, who has been much improved this season, won the Players Young Player of the Year award, whilst Paul McLaren won the Players Player of the Season.

Tranmere physio Les Parry, who has been a long servant of the club, was given a special award by club Chairman Lorraine Rogers after he reached his 800th consecutive game against Leeds earlier in the season.
