Defender up for award again
For the second successive season, Tranmere Rovers defender Ian Goodison has been nominated for the North West League One player of the year following his impressive performances over the last twelve months.

The Jamaican centre-back won the award last year round after a fine season under Ronnie Moore, and again he has impressed for Rovers this year, resulting in his nomination for the award.

When Goodison plays, Tranmere look like a much more settled and stronger side than they do without him, with his calming influence on the team and excellent defensive ability leading to praise all round.

The winner of the award will be announced in November.
