Goodison retains League One award

Tranmere Rovers defender Ian Goodison has been named the North West's League One player of the year for 2008 for the second successive year.

The Rovers centre-back beat off rivals from other players from North West clubs yo win the award which is based soley on the voting of the fans.

Jamaican international Goodison has been in fine form over the past few seasons, helping Tranmere to keep plenty of clean sheets, whilst when he has been missing from the Tranmere defence, Ronnie Moore's side have often failed to win.
