Despite missing a header and allowing Shaw an attempt on goal early on, Goodison was almost faultless from then on and thoroughly deserves selection in the team of the week again.
Goodison was picked in the Coca-Cola league one team of the week following his performance against Oldham Athletic on the opening day whilst Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was also in the team of the week for his performance against Yeovil Town at Prenton Park.
