Tranmere Rovers have extended the loan signing of Simon Francis by a further month from Sheffield United of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Blades have agreed to let Francis stay for a third month after Rovers signed him back in November, making his debut off the substitute bench against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park.

Since signing, Francis has played eleven league games (one as sub), been yellow carded once and scored the opener in the 2-2 draw with Swansea at Prenton Park.

Brian Little is said to be delighted to have secured the right back for a further month and is very hopeful of making him a permanent signing in the summer.

Rovers are also hoping to secure the services of on-loan 'keeper Dino Seremet for a further month from Luton Town after John Achterberg was reported injured again.
