After Michael Johnston, Mike Jones, Robbie Stockdale and John Mullin were all released little over a week ago, Tranmere Rovers have finally confirmed which out of contract players have been offered contracts.

Key central midfield pair Steven Jennings and Paul McLaren have both been offered new deals, although it is rumoured Jennings may favour a move away from the club.

Both players were an integral part of the Rovers last season, with each winning awards at the Player of the Season end of year function.

The third player offered a new contract is Australian utility player Shane Sherriff. The Rovers number five, who can play left-back, centre-back or left-midfield, joined the club two years ago and has scored a good amount of goals for the club since his arrival. With the players that have already been released leaving, Sherriff could be a key figure for Rovers next season.
