F.A. Cup Second Round Draw

Last updated : 09 November 2008 By Matthew Jones
The draw for the second round of this seasons F.A. Cup has taken place today, and following their 0-0 draw yesterday, the winners of the replay between Tranmere Rovers and Accrington face a tough away trip to either Peterborough United or Hornchurch.

Tranmere fans will have fond memories of Hornchurch, who Rovers' somewhat luckily beat 1-0 in the second round of the 2003/4 tournament, whilst a trip to Peterborough's London Road is always tough for Tranmere, with Ronnie Moore's side drawing the league match between the two sides 2-2 earlier this season.

The replay between Tranmere and Accrington will take place at Prenton Park on Tuesday 18th November, whilst the F.A. Cup second round will take place on the weekend of November 29th and 30th.

The pick of the F.A. Cup second round matches will see giant killers Histon, who knocked out League One side Swindon Town yesterday, host Leeds United or Northampton Town, whilst Curzon Ashton's reward for knocking out Exeter yesterday is a trip to Kidderminster.

Leiston, the lowest ranked team left in the competion, or Fleetwood will host Hartlepool or Brighton, Alfreton travel to Scunthorpe and Blyth Spartans, who defeated Shrewsbury yesterday, face a tough trip to Bournemouth.
