The winners of the F.A. Cup second round replay between Tranmere Rovers and Peterborough United will take on struggling Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in the third round of the competition.

The initial game between the two sides took place on Saturday, with the match being forced to a replay at Prenton Park on Tuesday 9th December after a 0-0 draw at London Road, although Tranmere had a couple of clear cut chances to win the match.

The draw then gives one of these two sides a chance to play at a Premier League ground against a side struggling for form this season, despite reaching the semi-finals of the F.A. Cup last season, meaning an upset could be on the cards when the tie is played at the Hawthornes on the weekend of January 3rd and 4th.

Other ties of note in the third round include:

Middlesbrough vs. Barrow
Portsmouth vs. Bristol City
Southampton vs. Manchester United
Histon vs. Swansea
Coventry vs. Kidderminster
Gillingham or Stockport vs. Aston Villa
Chelsea vs. Southend
Arsenal vs. Plymouth
