25-year old Dutchman Sven Baas has joined the Tranmere Rovers squad for one week to train with a view to signing a contract with the league one club.

Baas has played 141 in his native land, spending six years playing for Harlem, before playing for Volendam last season.

Tranmere currently have a shortage of central defenders, due to injury to Ian Sharps and Paul Linwood leaving on-loan to Wrexham for one month, leaving Mike Jackson as the only regular center back in the first 11.

Baas will spend one week training with Tranmere before Brian Little makes a decision on whether to offer the player a contract.
