Despite all their current financial problems, it is rumoured (mainly on Internet message boards) that United have had a £250,000 offer for the 19-year old rejected but should they double their offer, Tranmere would have to accept the offer due to their own financial status.
Davies' current contract with Tranmere runs out next summer after he signed a three year deal under Brian Little in August 2005 and many fans are strongly urging Tranmere to begin contract talks with their number 19.
