Dagnall Leaves

Tranmere Rovers have sold young star Chris Dagnall for an initial fee of £25,000 with further payments of upto £15,000 based on appearences and a sell on fee to League Two side Rochdale.

The young striker was well liked by Rovers fans but his departure was forseeable due to his lack of opportunities in the first team squad, rumoured to be because he didn't get on well with Rovers boss Brian Little.

The striker broke through to the first team squad just two or three seasons ago, with the likes of Arsenal and Man U chasing him but didn't score his first goal for Rovers last season in August, ironically against tomorrow's opponents, Hartlepool, at Prenton Park.

Last season, Dagnall had the best goals:minutes on pitch ratio for Rovers and it has puzzled us all as to why he hasn't been given his chance with the First XI this season.

He has been scoring for Tranmere's second string all season along side Steven Davies upfront but was never given more than a handful of minutes out of position in the first team.

To conclude, I am bitterly dissapointed Dagnall has left. He was a fantastic potential and I think this is another terrible bit of business by Tranmere.

The 19 year old 40 appearences for Rovers, of which 24 were from the bench. He scored seven goals for Rovers, including bagging one in the memorable 5-1 win away to Wrexham last season.

Good luck Chris, I'm very sad to see you go.
