And another step back

Tranmere have offered possibly their worst players last season, Ian Goodison and Theodore Whitmore contract extensions.

The two Jamaican's have excepted the offers made by Tranmere and will play for Rovers next year should their application for a work permit be accepted.

Last season, both Goodison and Whitmore became enemy's of many Tranmere fans. Goodison played out of position at left-back for a majority of the season, and failed to impress the Rovers faithful atall. The fans found his more passing ability and weak left foot early on in the season, and were very un-impressed.
Whereas Theo Whitemore appeared to the fans as a lazy midfielder. Rarely tracking back past the half way line even if he was playing in midfield, and rarely making a tackle, plus, his shooting ability has poor - very poor indeed.. At times, Whitmore had great games, unlike Goodison, most notibly away to Wrexham. However, his good performances were few, maybe only 3 or 4 in the season and this left the fans annoyed. He was very like a Jason Koumas, but not as good. As he could niether shoot or pass anywhere near as good as the former Tranmere player.

Many Rovers fans were hoping this news would never come, but now it has. It seems to me that two of the worst players last season are being signed on again, whilst one of the best, Paul Hall, has gone to Chesterfield because Rovers disgracefully refused to offer him a two-year deal, which he wanted.

Other contract news, and Tranmere are waiting to here from Players player of the year, and my player of the year, Mark Rankine, on whether he has excepted the contract tabled to him by Tranmere. Hopefully, unlike Paul Hall, Rankine will accept the offer made to him by Tranmere.
