Allen for Rovers?
After resigning from his post as Brentford Football Club boss today, Martin "Mad Dog" Allen is rumoured to be in talks with Lorraine Rogers and the Tranmere Board over the vancant managers position at Prenton Park.

Allen, who turns 41 on August 18th, was appointed the Bee's manager on 18th March 2004 and since he has been in charge of 124 games, of which 54 were won, 34 lost and 36 drawn.

During his two full seasons in charge of the Bee's, Allen guided Brentford to the play-off Semi Finals twice, before they were knocked out by Sheffield Wednesday last season and Swansea this season. He also guided the club through two impressive F.A. Cup runs.

However, today Allen has left Brentford due to "a lack of funds" and he has emerged as leading contender for the Tranmere job along with John Aldridge.

Mad Dog is believed to have already hold talks with chairman Lorraine Rogers and president Peter Johnson over the vanant managers position.
