Wallace banned for Rovers

Tranmere skipper James Wallace will begin a three-match suspension when Ronnie Moore's men entertain Walsall.

The central midfielder was dismissed in Rovers' last game against Wolves, the seventh red card of the season for the Sky Bet League One club, and so begins a three-match suspension.

Everton loanee Matthew Kennedy joined on Thursday and could make his debut at Prenton Park although Kris Peterson is back at Liverpool, while Barnsley defender Jim McNulty has also returned to his parent club.

Ian Goodison is still out as he makes his way back from a thigh problem while fellow defender Danny Holmes is also expected to miss out with a groin problem.

Walsall boast a fully-fit squad as they look to climb into the play-off spots for only the second time since August.

Dean Smith's side have spent the majority of the campaign on the periphery of the top six in League One but head to Prenton Park just one point and one place adrift.

The Saddlers have enjoyed a two-day team building trip to the Peak District since their last outing against Sheffield United on New Year's Day and will be raring to go against Rovers.

The 2-1 victory over the Blades was striker Milan Lalkovic's last match of his initial six-month loan stint from Chelsea but he has since extended his stay until the end of the season.
