Tranmere V Colchester at Prenton Park - Match Preview

New boys eye Rovers bows

Ronnie Moore could hand up to three players their debuts when Tranmere host Colchester at Prenton Park.

Kristoffer Peterson, Jon Otsemebor and Ryan Edwards all arrived on loan before Thursday's deadline and could feature as the Rovers boss deals with several injury concerns.

Skipper James Wallace will be hoping for his first start since returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines but Moore has hinted the defender may be benched once again despite featuring in their previous two matches.

Fellow midfielder Andy Robinson (knee) is around 10 days from a return while central defenders Ash Taylor (suspension) and Ian Goodison (groin) are unavailable.

Injury-hit Colchester will assess Craig Eastmond and Marcus Bean ahead of the clash.

Eastmond was forced off in the second half of Tuesday's 3-1 win over MK Dons nursing a hamstring injury while fellow midfielder Bean missed the clash altogether with a similar complaint.

Boss Joe Dunne is already without Freddie Sears, Gavin Massey (both hamstring), Sanchez Watt (thigh), Josh Thompson (ankle) and Drey Wright (knee) for the encounter.

But new loan signings Blair Turgott and Ben Tozer will be pushing to make their debuts having arrived on loan from West Ham and Northampton respectively.
