The 32-year old, who joined Rovers last summer after being released by Blackpool, made 35 appearances in the 2009/10 campaign, scoring once in the 2-1 home victory over Southampton in March.
Parry said: "Marlon did really well for us last season and was one of our most consistent players.
"He showed how versatile he is by playing at centre-back and right-back and is a very experienced, professional player.
"I'm delighted he has agreed to stay with us for another season."
Broomes, a former England Under-21 international who started his career at Blackburn, had spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and Stoke before signing for Blackpool in July 2008.
