Thompson Returns on Rest of Season Loan

Tranmere have today confirmed that they have re-signed Nottingham Forest defender John Thompson on loan until the end of the current season.

Thompson has already had a six week spell at the Club at the end of 2006, a spell in which Rovers failed to lose a game and his return is a definite boost to the squad.

Part of the deal in Thompson returning is that he is not allowed to face Nottingham Forest should the two sides meet in this season's play-offs in May.

Rovers also announced that on-loan players, Steven Jennings (Hereford) and Mike Jones (Shrewsbury) will remain at their respective loan Clubs until the end of the season.

Thompson meanwhile, will go straight into the Rovers squad to face Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on Saturday.
