Moore returns!
Tranmere Rovers have been involved in some transfer window deadline day action, with striker Ian Moore returning to Prenton Park after a 11 year absense.

Moore, who rejected Oldham Athletic to join Tranmere, has joined Rovers from Hartlepool United on a free-transfer and is available to play against his former club Leeds United this Saturday.

Ian, son of Tranmere manager Ronnie, started his career with Tranmere in 1994 and sparkling form for John King's side resulted in a call up to the England U-21 squad.

He moved to Nottingham Forest for £1,000,000 in 1997, from where he went on to play for the likes of Stockport County, Burnley and Leeds before joining Hartlepool in the summer.

Moore however wanted a move closer to home whilst at Hartlepool and after scoring nine goals in 30 goals for the club this season, he left the club for Tranmere today.

The striker, who Ronnie Moore describes as having "bags of pace" can also play on the wing and has scored over 100 career goals.

Due to Ian Moore signing, Tranmere have had to see striker Gareth Taylor leave after 19 months at the club, who departs to join Doncaster Rovers on a free transfer.

Good luck Gareth
Taylor was one of Ronnie Moore's first signings in the summer of 2006 after his arrival at the club, and the tall target man went on to make 69-appearances for the club, netting 13 goals in the process.

Tranmere Rovers Mad would like to thanks Gareth Taylor for his time at Prenton Park and wish him all the luck for the future.

Also, good luck to Ian Moore as he comes back to Prenton Park and if he is anywhere near as good as he was last time round then he will certainly be a good signing.

Moore is likely to wear the number nine shirt that has just been vacated by Gareth Taylor.
