Second placed Ashton were beaten more comfortably than the final score of 3-2 suggests at Harrogate. With only two minutes to go Harrogate were coasting to victory with a three goal cushion courtesy of goals from Underwood, Shelton and McNaughton. A Gareth Hamlet double in the dying seconds only served to bring respectability to the final score.
